The Seguin Cine Museum is a collection of old motion picture films, cameras, editing equipment, and related memorabilia. It covers the history of entertainment mediums since 180 A.D. to the present. Various film formats are included such as 70mm IMAX, 65mm, 35mm, 28mm, 22mm Kinetoscope, 17.5mm, 16mm, 13mm, 11mm, 9.5mm, Regular 8mm, Super 8mm, 4.75mm widescreen, UltraPan8 widescreen, paper roll films, and magic lantern slides. The museum is open during events that take place at the Palace Theatre. However, the museum can also be viewed on an appointment basis during the off times when there are no events. PALACE THEATRE BACKGROUND
The historical Palace Theatre, located on 314 South Austin Street in Seguin, Texas, hosts a variety of events and programs for the general public. This art deco style theater, which was built in the late forties, has 2 screens available with 35mm platter movie projectors with DTS digital audio. The large theatre has 350 seats with a 40 foot silver movie screen and a stage. The smaller theatre has 160 seats with a 25 foot screen on the second floor. A concession stand and bar complement the lobby area. A variety of possibilities are available for the following programs and events:
